My 16 year old stepsister just found out she's having a girl. She's due in December and baby-to-be will be named

Tylin Paige

Had baby-to-be been a boy, he'd have been named

Kaeden Konner

WDYT?

My opinion on both )

I think I just heard the worst twin names ever:  Diane and Diana.  Really?!?!?  Their parents couldn't come up with anything better than that?

Something interesting I came across last night while looking through my albums, sure many of you know this already.. I've always like the name Etta and I saw it posted here recently under a Jazz theme-- Etta James' given name was Jamesetta Hawkins. Ick, I'm glad she changed it. WDYT? I find it funny that people name their children after celebs when celebs so often change their names. Still like Etta, thoguh. :)

My friend's sister recently had a baby girl. They named her Chesni after the country singer Kenny Chesney. The new mom is crazy about Kenny Chesney and insisted on the name.

I know that celebrity names tend to rise in popularity, but what about celebrity surnames?? Would you ever use a celebrity surname as a first name like Chesni? Do you have any favorites that might make a transition like that and still sound respectable?

Tonight's Jeopardy! winner's name was Daria (f).  Not sure how I feel about it; it seemed to fit her.  WDYT?

Edit:  I've been informed that Daria was a character on 'Beavis and Butt-head.'  Now, I quite dislike it.

EDIT (again...):  I was looking at the Jeopardy! website, and decided to post all of this week's contestants' names.  Ooh, I sense a weekly feature... ^ ^

Carolyn
Caitlin
Randall
Rory (f)
Tim
Gail
Chris
Holden
Mark
Peter

Nothing too out of the ordinary.  I only like Peter off this list, though Mark, Carolyn, and Holden are okay.

Thank you for all of your help with helping me name my baby.

Sadly, she was born at 15.5 weeks, stillborn.

We were lost. At the time, they couldnt figure out gender and we didnt have any gender nuetral names we liked. We now know that baby was a girl.

Because of not knowing at the time of birth, we simply named her Wolverine Raymo. Her nickname and her last name.

I have caught a lot of flack for that. Apparently I didnt take it seriously. Trust me, every ounce of my being takes it seriously. But she was always baby Wolverine and we kept it. Why randomly pick out a name just to put on a death certificate.

Opinions?
