Amélie

How would you pronounce it if you saw it. Ah-may-lee or just like Emily but with an 'A' ?

I was reading the latest issue of Essence and found this name among its pages, given to a little girl:

Errianna

Yes, that's supposed to be Arian(n)a.  According to Behind the Name, it can be pronounced with the 'air' sound, but I find it awful that the parents actually went down the 'spell it how it sounds' path. WDYT?

Oh, and any other crazy spellings of perfectly nice names have you found?

A (distant) family member recently had twin! A boy and a girl:

Benjamin August
& Natalie Kate

WDYT?

I think the first names are great. I'm not a fan of August, but as a middle name it doesn't really bother me too much, since Benjamin is a favorite!

A new baby nephew announcement for one of my facebook friends:
Rylan Jhye
A brother for Jayleigh (f)

Blergh. I hate the 'trying-to-be-different' names.

I've always had a soft spot for Jhye/Jye/Jy  because I once had a summer crush on a cute guy called Jye... *reminisces* ahhh

WDYT?

According to the book, these are the names which are "clearly not fit for boys, but as straightforward, down to earth, and - sometimes - blunt as you can get while still being female."

Okay, guys, I'm super bored, so I hope you don't mind an influx of posts. LOL. Anyway, here are the boyish names for girls.

[identity profile] seksimaggie.livejournal.com
My friend Rodger has almost 500 Facebook friends, so I figured there had to be some interesting ones.

Interesting ones in bold.
Middle names/nicknames if they're included, or if I happen to know.

Only 490 friends actually )
(Yeah, I have way too much time on my hands, haha.)

I went out for dinner today with a bunch of people, and a lot of them had kids, so I figured I'd post the sibsets.

Maya & Callahan

Desiree & Miguel

Neve & Lucas

Molly & Isabella

Deirdre & Fiona

Also, Maya was walking around the restaurant working her 10 year old charm on everyone in the restaurant, and she managed to figure out a lot of their names. Here they are:

Dove (He was our waiter, probably in his late 20s)

Claire (the other waitress)

Stu (the cook)

Stella and Liam (they were both babies, around 1 or 2 years old, not siblings though)

EDIT:

My fiance and I have either decided on Kayleigh Anne or Kayleigh Rayne.
Thanks you guys, well, some of you!

I with-held most of my rude comments towards some rude people, because, fighting with a fool makes two.

:-)

Oh, and we haven't thought of a boy's name but oh well, we will eventually! :)

I am new to this community, so this has probably been done before but I am curious as to what YOUR names are, and the names of your siblings and how you feel about them?

I am the oldest of three sisters. We are all three years apart. We are, in order:

Jennifer Leigh

Cheryl Ann

Valerie Cecilia

I used to hate my name growing up, it's pretty plain but as names tend to do, it grew on me over my lifetime, haha. I have personally met hundreds of Jennifers and dozens of Jennifer Leighs over my lifetime (I will be 30 this year, GASP!) but I do like my name. I love Cheryl's name but feel blah about her middle name, and I ADORE Val's combo of Valerie Cecilia.

Oh, Cheryl and I also each have one son- she has Ethan Riley (9) and I have Holden James (7).

edit: I forgot to add that I chose Cheryl's name when I was two. My mom gave me the choice between Cheryl and Heidi for the first name.
