A couple of questions
May. 28th, 2007 09:11 amDoes anyone have family naming traditions? In my stepfather's family, all the boys are given the middle name Edward (so that my stepfather, for instance, is Gordon Edward, and my stepbrother is Kevin Edward). In my mother's family, the tradition is to give the child three names: the first is either Mary or Joseph (we're Catholic), the second is the name of the child's godmother/father, and the third is the given name, so that I am Marie Aline Laurie.
Also, how would you pronounce Mairi?
Edit: How do you feel about surnames used as first names? I know there are a lot of common/popular names that are also surnames (ex: Taylor) - but what about names like Campbell?
