The receptionist at my mom's chriopractor's office is having a baby in September and I found out what the name's going to be. It's a boy btw.

I'm working as a receptionist these days, so I stare all day at a long list of names, and fantasize over them.

I'd like to have your opinion on the following names.
Some are real, some are names I made up out of inspiration, some are names that came to my mind that I've never seen discussed on this community.

Riehle (REE-leh)
Hobbas (boys' name)
Vanelise (Vah-nuh-LEES, rhymes with Denise)
Valenise (Vah-luh-NEESE, meaning a final 'z' sound)
Jesserin (JESS-er-in)
Teane (TEE-an, almost rhymes with Liam, both sexes)
Laraine (Luh-RAY-ne, real name, the meaning could have to do with 'rain' or share the Raina/Reine root, meaning 'queen', or also just be a different version of Lorraine)
Lodemai (Lo-duh-MY, I love this one, it's on my girl names list)

Rare names on community:
Tamara
Elettra (do you use Electra in English speaking countries?)
Valerie/Valery
Valentina (Vah-len-tee-na)
Valentine (Vah-len-ty-ne)
Veronica
Lavinia
Miranda

Last question: do you like Andrea as a girls' name, even though it comes from 'andrĂ²s' in greek, which means 'man'?

Thanks for your partecipation! :)

I've loved the name Ada for years now.  The problem is I'm not sure which spelling I should stick with.  The Biblical way of spelling it is Adah (at least I think it is).  I am usually pretty set in spelling names the original way, but it's kinda like the name Sarah or Sara, either one is acceptable.  What do you think?  I'm leaning toward Ada because it just looks better to me, but who knows, I might not even get to use the name when I'm ready to have kids.

Calypso ?

It's from mythology... I heard it in Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End and it caught my interest.

I don't think it's a name I'd give to a child, but I do like it.

Also: middle names for Nigel, please. Yes, Nigel!

My hamster, Violet Katherine, just passed away this evening, and we're thinking that we'll all feel a little better if we get a hamster a couple weeks before the end of summer. I'm just interested in name suggestions, preferably old man names. Our other hamsters were Milton and Basil, and our fish were Scarlett and Jack. What do you guys think of these ideas (Augustus is the preferable middle name):

Edward Augustus
George Augustus
Charles Augustus
Leonard Augustus
William Augustus
Gary Augustus
Thomas Augustus

Anything is appreciated, thank you.
