How popular would you say the name James is? LIke....how many people do you know named James? Also...do they go by James, or do they have nn's, such as Jim, Jimmy, Jamie? etc.

Also....does anyone have the link for the social security baby names website? That exists right? Where you can type in a name, and see its standing for certain years, etc?

Thanks for your help and opinions!

Hey guys!

I recently found out I was pregnant, and don't know the sex of the baby yet, but, I wanted to run some baby names by you guys to see what you think. When I was younger I had always liked the names, Lola, Arianna, Helena, Olivia, Tracey, and Georgia. I don't really know what to say now, I'm still a little fond of them I guess :). I'm an irish canadian and my name is Kaeli and I've always liked irish names, and also french. I like the name Brielle which is french but haven't really though of any irish ones.

For a boy my husband and I have run by names like James, Aiden, but we pretty much stopped, we honestly can't think of any boy names. I like the nickname Finn, but I'm not really liking the full name for it. Does anyone have any ideas ?

I just wanted to know what y'all think of the name Daisy Mae. It's presently my first choice for a girl's name. A few of my friends have expressed disdain.

Deonte (son)

names in this article about shopping cart dangers... just thought there were several unusual names in one article, which was a bit odd.

My husband and I were discussing some names over dinner and a new one crept into the conversation. For a little background before the name is dropped, my husband is a band director. His expertise is percussion and he absolutely loves everything that is music, from writing to playing to the history and what have you. The name that was discussed is Cadence Aria both music terms, Cadence: marks the end of a phrase in music or is a street beat for marching band. Aria: A solo in the middle of an opera.

wdty? Also.. what other middle names might you suggest for a girl named Cadence?

MAJOR EDIT/ADDITION PLEASE REREAD EVEN IF YOU'VE ALREADY POSTED:

In other news, I'd like to inquire as to what your top choices of nickname would be for Cadence. Cady/Katie/Kady/Cadie is out of the question. I like Cade (prn KAY-d) but I just wonder what other suggestions you guys might have, since you're so awesome at coming up with nicknames!

And finally, I'm not in to "sibsets" as I do believe that each child is his/her own person, I, however, dont want a Jessica, Jennifer, and Shaniqua either. I'd like them to at least be complimentary to each other. The boys name we adore is Elijah Malachi (prn MAL-uh-ki, not MAL-uh-key) both very strong Biblical names, and Elijah is considerably more popular than Cadence. Do these names mesh? They would take his greatest love (Cadence Aria) and OUR greatest love (Jesus/God/Christianity/the Bible) and be the best of both for us. Hmm.. I think I just convinced myself. =)

Fred Savage and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Stone, are new parents to a baby boy, born Saturday, August 5th in L.A. He weighed 6 lbs, 13 oz., and measured 20 inches long.

The parents have not yet named the baby boy... so I thought it would be fun to play a little game in this community. Comment to this post with the name you think they will choose (first, middle, or both) and we will see who gets it right!

I work at an elementary school and today I came across these names, which I thought were odd, either for their sex, for the time they were born, or just in general. All of these names are of kids between 5 and 11, so they're rather recent names.

Cut for length )

I also found these sib sets that I thought went well together without being too matchy.

Evan (m) and Jordan (m)
Matthew (m) and Isabella (f)
Colin (m) and Liam (m)

I don't really like Evan or Colin that much, and I like Jordan as a girls' name, not as a boys'. But otherwise I like these combos a lot, especially Colin and Liam.
