[identity profile] loyt.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
These past couple of weeks I have become obsessed with the name Strummer.
And I've recently decided that if I ever have a baby boy, i will call him Strummer. I know it sounds stupid, but I like it and at least it would be differnet, also it's in honor to Joe Strummer from The Clash - a band I have loved since a tot, cause mother and uncles used to blair the music loudly.

I mentioned this to my mother in the car today. And her first question was "What would it's middle name be?"
I hadn't put any thought into that at all. So I sat dumbfounded for a secon and decided that I'd like to use an Irish or Scottish middle name with it - because my family heritage is of Scottish and Irish.

So here are some thoughts:

Strummer Ewen
Strummer Boyd
Strummer Eoin
Strummer Tavis
Strummer Fynn
Strummer Miach

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Also feel free to tell me if you think the name is bogus. I'm open to eveyrones oppinion.

I don't like it as a first name at all. It's not a name, and I can't picture this on an adult at all. Maybe as a nickname, but definitely not as a first name. If you're that attached to it, I'd suggest using it as a middle name (which I've seen done before). That makes it so that the name is included, if he likes it he can choose to go by it, but he's not saddled with a name that is going to make people give the 'wtf?' look for the rest of his life.

I have a difficult time seeing the name Strummer Travis Lastname on a job application or a business card, but I think Travis Strummer or Finn Strummer (with a y it looks like a typo of Flynn) would work much better and I like both names.
