So...we're having trouble deciding on a name for our little girl. We've narrowed it down a little...my husband likes Harper a little better and I like Abigail (Abbie) a little better. However, today I thought we could name her Ruby, after my grandma (who died the week she was conceived). In any case the middle name will be Elizabeth, which is also a family name. My son's name is Jackson Elliot and we call him Jack. So a couple of questions:

Is this weird or morbid? I know it's fairly common to use family names, but my grandma *just* died in August. Is the name appropriate for a teenager or young woman? I can certainly see a little girl being called Ruby, and also an older woman. Does it fit well with Jack as a sibset?

I love the name Ruby. I think it's great to name her after your grandmother.
