My friend calls her grandfather Poppy. And I also think of the word "poppycock". Despite those two reactions, I think it's kind of cute!

Ha, I work at a place that used to carry Poppy Seed bagels, but doesn't anymore. My immediate reaction was "No, we haven't carried those in a year and a half."

Didn't Jamie Oliver (the Naked Chef) name his daughter that? I think it's kind of sweet but ONLY if the kid stays five forever!

I know 3 little girls named Poppy so it doesn't sound 'weird' too me, I kinda like it.

Very British sounding, and I adore the flower, but for me it's just a little too close to "poopy" to work as a name. Also, I think poppy is a very silly sounding word. It might be cute on a kid, but it doesn't come across at all dignified/professional on an adult to my ears.

I think it'd be better as a middle name.

Poopy.

That's what I imagine kids calling her. :(

I actually kind of like it. But a name like that probably wouldn't suit most people, if that makes sense.

My nickname as a child was Poppy (and my name is Katherine) I think its cute, but not very strong. I think a real girly girl could pull it off :)
