Albanian Names
Jan. 7th, 2008 03:24 pmAlthough having a child is not even in my 5-year plan, I already feel as though I should start looking for names....lol! My fiance is Albanian (from Kosovo), and we have already decided that our children should have proper Albanian names. His name is Bashkim (pronounced Bah-shkim), and the names of his family members are:
Naim...pronounced Nye-im
Xhevat...pronounced Jah-vat
Xhezeeta....pronounced Ja-zee-tah
Luljeta...pronounced Loo-lee-yet-ah
Bukurie...pronounced Boo-koo-ree-ah
Naybi (rhymes with 'maybe')
I can't really say I like any of them! Please check out this website for more names, and tell me which ones you like!

(Bytheway, there are not 20000 Albanian names listed! The site has 20000 names altogether!)

hahaha, yes I am in a pretty complicate situation! I was born in Toronto, Canada, but my mother is French-Canadian, so I speak both French and English fluently. Then, I moved to Germany, met my fiance, and learned German (in that order! lol). So we speak German together, yet it's also his 3rd language! We want to move back to Canada at the end of this year, so he will definitely have to learn English. Therefore, our children will have English as a native langauge, and I think it's important that they learn Albanian as well.....although I won't be the one teaching it to them!
