Ah, Vermont South. I live on the other side of the city from there (Melbourne is HUGE) but it's a pretty nice area, I think. Well, it was last time I ventured that way... I'm an inner-suburbs girl so don't really get around too much.

Yeah it's a lovely area, but it's rather a trek to get into the city.. a walk, a bus, then a train.. here in England that's considered so far.. even a 20 minute car ride from the city centre is considered pretty far!

Melbourne certainly is huge.. we had to get from Vermont South to Avalon for a 7am flight and that was pretty far/hellish!

That's because Avalon is out the back of beyond! (My parents live about 15 minutes from there, ha ha!)

It's a silly place to put an airport. At least Tullamarine is near stuff.
