I have two questions, what do you think of names that sound kind of regal? like.. that end with "ing" "ton" or "son"

Kensington
Kingston
Arlington
Remington
Clayton
Leighton
Grayson
Pierson

what are others like that you like?

And also, what do you think of the names Jorian and Rylan for boys?

I actually don't think most of them sound 'regal.' To me, regal names are the ones like William, Henry, Charles, etc.

Clayton is okay, but the rest sound too much like last names for me.

Jorian and Rylan both look made-up and I hate both of them. I prefer Ryan to Rylan (it looks like Riley + Ryan mixed together).

They still look/sound made-up, and I have a difficult time picturing either name, but especially Rylan, on anyone over the age of 7.

They're not really high class or snotty English type names though...the closest I can get to snotty rich folk from those names is that a fair number of them live in *a place* called Kensington.

So yeah, they basically all sound like places or surnames to me, I don't like them as first names.

Pretentious to the highest degree. Acceptable as names only if they are actual family names of the baby. And even then, only as middle names.

you say that like it's a law or something...

what you said is not a fact; simply your rude opinion.

Actually, in some countries, there are laws governing what you can and can't name your kids. And none of those would probably pass.

How could it possibly be anything else but my opinion? We were asked what we thought, I said what I thought.

And if you can point out how it was rude (aside from exhibiting a negative opinion, which isn't rude) I will be happy to apologize.

Generally, I find them tacky. They can occasionally work on a boy, but on girls they reek of trendiness. Blech.

Jorian and Rylan...are rather ugly. Jorian looks like some strange, bastardized version of Dorian and Rylan...simply looks made up.

Layton is my Dad's and brother's name.

For some reason, the name Oakley comes to mind. And Harrison. And Brighton.

From your list I like Leighton.
My brother's name is Brighton and Winston is my cousins middle name. My nephew's middle name is Payton.

I don't like Jorian and Rylan.

I don't really care for any names in that style, although I don't mind Leighton or Grayson.

I don't like Jorian. Rylan sort of sounds okay, but almost sort of feminine.

I don't think they sound regal at all. I think they sound like a middle class woman trying to give her children regal names without any sort of understanding of what the word means.

That's what I thought: somebody trying to sound upper class. And some of them just sound silly, like Grayson.

Sometimes I like them. I know someone who had a boy Christmas day and named him Keaton. I like it, but it reminds me of Alex P. Keaton.

They sound silly to me. Definitely like someone's trying too hard. Just stuck-up and ridiculous.

I love them. I ended up naming my first dog Pierson and now I have to find something equally as cool for the new puppy I plan on getting in the spring. And I'm also a little sad that I didn't save the name for my nonfur child.

These names are okay. Not really my style. They are rising in popularity, though.

I like Kensington and Remington, with nicknames Kensie and Remy.

Kensington is the name of a biscuit and Remington is the name of a company that produces hair care products and razors (shavers)...

I had a classmate named Remington this past Fall. I always thought about the name as a product name, but after seeing it on him it changed my opinion and I kinda like it now. I also have a friend who just had a baby girl and named her Kensington, because that's where she met her Hubby, at Kensington Cafe.
