Fun with names
Dec. 27th, 2007 08:42 pmMy boyfriend and I went through names and picked ones out that we both liked (it was hard and laborious). Here's the list...
Boys:
Vincent
Weaver
Logan
Willem
Theo
Aidan/Aedan (ugh, it's so popular right now... I prefer the alternate "Ae-" spelling)
Girls:
Rosaline
Maya
Channing
Jovi
Chell (pronounced "Shel")
Teagan/Tegan (I'm a little on the fence with this one)
I also liked the names Astrid and Erika for girls and Atticus for a boy, but he didn't go for those.
What do you think of this list, and which first name/middle name combinations work best, in your opinion?

Logan - Trendy
Willem - Prefer William
Theo - Prefer Theodore, Theo is too nicknamey
Aidan/Aedan - Too trendy, but if you have to use it, spell it Aidan
Rosaline - Nice
Maya - Okay
Channing - Hate it
Jovi - Never heard of it
Chell (pronounced "Shel") - People will always spell it 'Shell'
Teagan/Tegan - Trendy, and too cutesy sounding for me

It is a bit annoying correcting people, but I love how both my real and nicknames are spelled. If my child gets stuck with a hard-to-spell name, I hope he or she would come to appreciate its uniqueness too.
