Italian Names
Dec. 19th, 2007 05:07 pmMy friend's mom just had another baby the other day (this is their sixth) and I wanted to share with you the names of their kids.
Vincenzo Rocco (the newborn)
Alberto (my friend, the oldest)
Alessandro
Gianluca <-- I'm not asure of the spelling of this one
Francesca (the only girl)
Giuliano <-- is a boy, and I'm not sure whether the end is an 'a' or 'o'
Obviously they're very Italian. I really love all of these names, being of Italian descent myself but I don't think I would use all fo them.
WDYT?

Date: 2007-12-19 10:31 pm (UTC)i had an italian professor who was american and his wife was italian. his name was john. they had a son and named the son "john luca". so when he was in america, he went by john, and when he was in italy, he went by the full "john luca" which has an identical sound to "gianluca". i thought that was really cool.
by the by, there are a lot of names in italy that start with gian-.

Date: 2007-12-19 10:34 pm (UTC)you spelled both Gianluca and Giuliano correctly ;)
it would be Giuliana if it were a girl
I'm half italian and living in Italy and to me they all sound quite typical to the point of boring :P Vincenzo Rocco is sooooo southern, while the other ones are all at least middle-class frequent :P
Alessandro is my partner's name :)
and I almost was a Francesca! ugh

Date: 2007-12-21 02:14 am (UTC)I love italian names, though.
I might would use them.. I don't know.
I don't like Gianluca/Giuliano together, though. And I don't think I like Alberto/Alessandro together, either. But they're all still nice names.
