what do you think about the name TAEGAN / TEAGEN for a girl ?

TAEGAN

Gender: Masculine & Feminine

Usage: English

Perhaps either a variant of TEAGAN (masculine) or a form of TEGWEN (feminine).

TEAGAN

Gender: Masculine & Feminine

Usage: Irish

Means "little poet", derived from Gaelic tadhg "poet" and a diminutive suffix.

is it too close to the word TAKEN ?

Some people don't pronounce it like you could taken. I see it and think of "tee-gan".

Definitely not a fan. Too cutesy, too trendy. I pronounce it 'TEE-gan'.

I like Teagan better. I knew two girls with that name. One spelled it that way and the other spelled it Tegan.

I love the name!

I would pronounce Taegan Tay-gen and Teagan Tee-gan.
Teagan is my cousin's name. It suits her I think but she's still a young teenager and I don't know how well it will work when she's say, in her 30s.

I have a friend named Tegan pronounced Tee-gan, and she likes it. I like it too, I guess.

It's been YEARS since I've heard the name Tegwen - I met a Welsh girl once with that name, and I quite liked it.

I can't imagine pronouncing Teagan, Tegan or Taegan as 'Tay-gan'. It sounds horrible to me.

Tegan all the way, but brownie points if you spell it Tægan. Y'know, like encyclopædia. It would help to ensure the 'eee' pronunciation.

I like it spelled Tegan. But Teagan is much better than Taegan. I pronounce it as TEE-gan, not TAY-gan.

It's awful, trendy, masculine and downright ugly. I'm not a fan.

My eighteen year old sister is named Teagan, pronounced Tee-gan. It suits her, and it is the sort of name that isn't too popular/trendy but also isn't a name that makes people stop and say "what was what?"

We're in Australia btw, not sure how it is in the States.

I like it, but I am biased!

I actually like it, but with a different spelling. I once worked with a girl named "Taegin," and I thought it was a cute name.

I prefer Tegan to both of them but I don't like the name anyway...
