Yay! I can join this community with no funny looks from friends and family!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant (hooray!) but the Husband and I have been talking names for ages. I like names that offer a nickname, mainly because we both have one and it's handy to work out how much in trouble you are by the amount of names your parents used (if ever I got "Nicola Fiona!!" I knew I was in for it!)

So I just thought I'd put some of my names here and that would be all fun :)

Girls.
Eva Ann (nickname Evie)
Charlotte Ann or Charlotte Fern (nickname Charli)

Boys.
Cobey Danger (HE wants this as a middle name. And it's so damn cute I can't say no.) (nickname Cobes?)
Tobey John (nickname TJ)

Thoughts?
We both love Eva but lately Charlotte's been creeping in and I'm not sure if I like it more... I guess i still have ~ 8 months to work it out.

Ack. Cobey Danger would be fine if your son stayed five years old forever. I wouldn't go to a doctor named Cobey Danger X, or hire a lawyer named Cobey Danger X, or get my car fixed by a Cobey Danger X, or vote for... you get the picture :)

Same goes for Tobey - as the above commenter wrote, I'd go with Tobias, which is an elegant, strong and uncommon name, and can still be shortened to Toby.

Your girls' names are great. My name is Eva and I've never met anyone with the same name, although it looks like it's getting more popular! I never used to like it much, it's been growing on me :) Eva Charlotte is quite nice if you like both, unless you'd like to save Charlotte for a future daughter, of course!

Hm... fine, I was giving my opinion, because that's what you wanted, right? I always like to picture what a name might look like on, say, a resume or business card when the child grows up. I just think the names don't "grow" well.

Maybe it's different where you live, because many resumes I've seen do have middle names or at least initials. But sure - you can definitely get away with never using your middle name, so if the husband insists on it, you can indulge him and have it stay hidden on the birth certificate forever :)

(Although I think Cobey is kind of boyish-sounding in itself.)
