Anyone else here gravitate toward names that begin with or contain a certain letter of the alphabet? I've noticed a lot of things about my own naming habits, thanks to all the name games (I'm a total sucker for the games). It isn't always apparent from my favorites list, but when the games ask for a bunch of names starting with a particular letter, I have my tried-&-true sources. I usually turn to A for boy names, & I can come up w/ a pretty satisfactory V or L list for girls. But really, the winner by a landslide is good ol' R.

I can come up w/ more R names that I like than any other letter, & it goes for both sexes. Plus, a decent amount of my other favorite names contain R. I guess I just like that R sound - to me, it flows.

So, what letter overwhelmingly pops up on your name list? Give a sample of some of your favorite names beginning with that letter. =)

girls:
Remy*
Ren*
Rena
Romy*
Rae/Raye
Roxanne
Reina
Roanne
Rory
Raven

boys:
Rowen*
Rhys*
Ryan
Ryder/Rider
Ronan*
Rohan*
Rylan
Roman
Remus

either:
Robin*
Riley
Rui

Just a sample. If presented w/ a game, I can come up w/ plenty more. =) Names that belong on my overall favorites list are marked w/ an asterisk.

Even though my favourite name of all time starts with a 'D' (Daphne ;) ) I'm a big fan of K names like Kate, Keiran, Keira, Kaitlyn, Katherine.

I also like A names - Anthony and Arielle are on my top 5. I also like Ally, Audrey and Alec a lot.

And lastly S names for girls like Stephanie, Seline, Sarah, Selina, Sienna, Scarlett, Sophie etc.

I'm a fan of E, A, T, L for girls and almost all my boys names end in -n or -r.
And for some reason I seem to like a lot of J names for both genders

Oh I like Ronan too :)

I tend to go for the 'strong' starting sounds, for instance a name that starts with an R but carries that slight Rh sound, like Ronan. I also like G and W names for boys. My last night begins with a vowel so I tend to stay away from vowel names unless they really strike me.

I never even realized it before until this post made me think about it but I love L names.

Lydia
Lily
Lelani
Lola

My favorite name right now has to be Lydia. I'm not sure I'd use any of the other L names I like on a child of my own, maybe lelani because of the meaning but I just love the sound of L names I guess.

I LOVE names that start with "J", though only one of the names on my favorite names list starts with it.
