I went to a sixth grade class today for my teacher training stuff. The kids are 11 and 12 and they all had pretty normal names, with normal spellings.
Emma
Taylor (f)
Courtney
Chase
Brayden
Charlie
Morgan (f)
etc.
And then there are two with more... odd names. At least not ones i had heard before:

Dallin (a like apple)
Harbor

Not the most horrid i have ever heard, but still... different.

I have recently become quite fond of the name Maren (pn like Karen) for a girl... it's a co-worker's daughter's name, so i don't want to use it, but i think it's cute.

I like Charlie. Morgan is one of my favorite boy names, but I don't particularly like it on girls. Taylor (for a girl; I still don't like it for boys) is growing on me after reading the book The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver. Chase, Emma, Brayden, and Courtney all seem trendy/dated to me in their own ways.

Dallin is...weird? haha. Why not Dallas or Darren? It sounds like a mix of the two. Harbor is weird, too. I think both are kind of awful, haha.

The rest are big fails. I actually knew a Harbour once. Female, would be about 30 now.
