I've always loved the name Skyler for a boy or girl, but decided against it for a future child becuase it is popular and trendy. However, according to the baby name wizard, it has never broken into the top 200, so its really not that popluar at all. What do you guys think of the name? Is it better for a boy or girl? What about Skyla for a girl?

I like Skyler as a name, though I'd either spell it Schuyler or Skylar. My mother wanted to name one of my sibs Skyler. And I don't think it's that popular. I've never met a Skyler, at least.

I really like Skyler, although I like Skye even better =) I like it better on girls, but I can see it on boys as well.
I don't like Skyla. It sounds like someone who wants to say 'Skyler' but can't pronounce it properly ;)

Skyla screams "my mom does meth" imo.

I like Skyler, for girls usually, but not Schuyler, Skylar, or Skyla.

Skyler for a boy and Skylar for a girl.
But I wouldn't use them, they're sort of 'modern country' to me.

Skyler is masculine and Skylar is feminine. Schuyler is absolutely hideous.

Skyla is ok, but not something I would ever use. My son had a Skyla in his Kindergarten class.

Just my opinion.

Skyler is alright, I guess. I wouldn't choose it, but it's not horrible. Skyla is ehhhhh, not so good. I went to highschool with a Skylah and she was pretty white-trashy/total whore.

I hate Skyler for a boy. It's way to feminine sounding for my taste but I like it for a girl. I'd probably spell it Skylar.

It's not so much that it's too "popular", in my opinion, it's that it looks too trendy and dated, especially in that spelling. Like anyone named Skyler you know will have been born sometime after 1980. Like Jordan, Mikayla and Madison. You know? That's just my opinion though. That may be what you like about it.

I do think the Skylar spelling is prettier, for a girl.

I like it for either a boy or a girl, and I prefer the Schuyler spelling. =D
