These are supposed to be TEEN names? Ugh. Like there are really any teens named McKenna, Emma, or Maddy. They are all pretty recent trends, so that'd make sense for baby stuff, but not teens. Same with Parker and AIDAN. Aidan??? On a teenager?? I mean, I know the name is a pretty old Gaelic name, but was anyone outside of Ireland named that before Sex and the City? lol

Like there are really any teens named McKenna, Emma, or Maddy.

Why wouldn't there be?

13 years ago, Emma was the #76 most popular name. Madison was 52. Madeline was 92. McKenna was 384.

Aidan was #440. Parker was 238.

So, to answer the question...yes, there really ARE teens with those names.

I didn't mean that there aren't ANY teenagers with those names, I was being (slightly) facetious. I just meant that if they're picking names that are representative of teenagers, they might want to stay away from names that totally scream "I was born in 2006!" I know people with those names who are older, but they're VERY rare, and when I hear them, I think they sound more like 5 year olds than 15 year olds.

Aidan Quinn is an actor that was pretty popular 13 years ago or so. He was in Legends of the Fall with Brad Pitt (1994), and I think the popularity of that movie helped make this name more popular as well. The beginning of the trend if you will.

I went to college with an Aidan. This was in 1989.

I would have said that Emma was pretty common name on teenagers - there were three in my class, and at least twenty in my year at school. That might be more an English trend though. I know one or two girls called Maddy, though all the ones that come to mind are French. As for the others, I totally agree.
