I work on a pediatrics unit at a hospital and I sometimes see some crazy names. We had twins come in, one named Sterling (sort of cute, right?) and the other, SILVER. Come on now. People are ridiculous.

Also, anyone planning on naming their kid Jayden, Aiden, Hayden, Cayden, Braden, etc, FORGET ABOUT IT. I see these names at least twice a week.

Also, sort of unrelated to baby names, but I got a new baby kitten today and she's sooo cute. The problem is, she has no name. D:

She's black and tiny and scared of everything. I'm leaning towards Mia, just because it's little and cute like she is, but I haven't really decided yet. I have a big boy cat named Jackson (the Jacks), so I definitely want person's name, but nothing too fancy or long. Any thoughts?

yeah, i like mia, and i think it might suit her. i tried lola and molly and leah, too, but mia is the only name that i thought might work. i still don't know though! i like miah, as well!

awww i love that! i'm gonna try it out. but it sort of reminds me of hanson (taylor has a daughter named penelope called penny), and i have some hanson loving friends that might think i jocked it from him (even though i'm not what you'd call a hanson fan). thanks for the suggestion!

I wouldn't suggest it for a person, but for a kitty, what about altering Mia to Miyaa? So it's Mia, leaning toward a meow-ish sound. I like when cats can say their own names.

That said, my new kitten's name is Baba Ganouj. So I obviously don't always follow my own advice.

Your little girl's adorable. I'm going to imagine that's how my older cat looked as a kitten (she was 5 months old when we got her). Her name is Isis.
