William Brian (Liam) -- I'm unsure about this one.  Any other ideas for boys names that would sound good with the others?  Other middle name possibilities are: Frederick, Emerson, Robert, Andrew, or Peter.  Suggest away!



Also, one other question: I would pronounce the name Madeleine as Mad-uh-line.  Should it be spelled Madeleine or Madeline?  I prefer Madeleine because it has the added bonus of reminding of Madeleine Albright (okay, I'm a politics geek.  So sue me), but I've heard that one pronounced both -lyn and -line and I definitely want it to be the latter.

Me, too. It looks classier, but I guess I'm more concerned with the pronunciation than the spelling. Well. Sort of. They're both *kind of* correct in their own way, so it's not a totally kr8yv spelling like Ayden or something, so I'd be willing to compromise, but I'm totally biased toward Madeleine, too:)

Madeleine is pronounced -lyn as far as i'm concerned.
It's the French spelling and the anglicised version of the French pronunciation.. almost -mad-uh-lane.

I prefer Madeleine, I dislike the line bit in the other spelling. I prn it mad-uh-lahne, where the second a is almost ai. Never lynn, though, or line like "Straight line".

Like your girls' names, and the boys except the last. I think it's the iam/n repeat. I like Robert, Andrew, or Peter better.

I like all of your names - they're classic without being pretentious.

Madeleine and Madeline are both good spellings, but Madeleine is pronounced "Mad-len" (or thereabouts) traditionally, so if you wanted Mad-uh-line (which is my favourite pronunciation too) then I would stick with the latter.

I don't care much about the popularity of names, as long as they're not TRENDY, you know what I mean? Eleanor is a really important name to me, so I'd use it whether it was #1 or #59858585. Plus, Ellie is less popular than almost all of my boys' names, so I don't mind at all.

I love Juliet but I'm not too fond of Adrienne. It's a good name though, just not my style.
Eleanor Margaret is nice and classic and Ellie is totally cute. Very popular right now though.
I love Madeleine but with the pronunciation confusion of Madeleine (lynn or line) I would spell it Madeline. I personally prefer it that way too.

I love Samuel/Sam. I really like Henry but not the nn Huck. Charlie is cute. =]

I don't think William Brian flows well. I like William Frederick, William Emerson and William Robert though. =]

Adrienne wouldn't normally be my style, either, but it's after my best friend and I love her dearly and that makes me love the name all the more, too. It just has such a great connotation for me. The popularity of Ellie doesn't bother me much, because (a) I probably won't have kids for another 5-10 years and by then the name will hopefully have died down a little, and (b) it's much less popular than all of my boys' names, haha.

I'm still trying to decide if I like Madeline. I love Madeleine, but Madeline just looks weird to me. Maybe I just need to get used to it? I'm a little iffy on both of my #4 names (although less so with Madeleine than I am with William), so maybe that'll change.

I'm not sure I like William Brian, either, haha. I do like William Emerson, too:)

Timothy is pretty set in stone, although I'm not a huge fan of the name, either. It's after my dad, who I love dearly. Plus, it was originally going to be my name if I was a boy, after him, so I really want to use it for him. If I hated his name, it'd be another story, but I'm more indifferent than anything else, so I'm going to use it.

I like Samuel Michael (more the former than the latter) and Henry Atticus, which is one of my favourite combos!

I definitely prefer Madeleine over Madeline, and I say it -lyn.

I don't see how Madeleine can be pronounced with a 'line' sound :/
going by german phonetics, maybe?
but I don't see the point, as it's french, and pronounced Mad-LEN.

Anyway, I prefer Madeleine because it could also be pronounced MAD-uh-lin in english.

Eleanor Margaret (Ellie) - Love it. Reminds me of Sense and Sensibility.
Louisa Grace - Louisa is one of those names I wouldn't usually like, but sort of do anyway. Louisa Grace is pretty.
Madeleine Renee - I prefer the Madeline spelling, and the line pronunciation, personally. Renee's not bad.

Samuel Michael (Sam) - Very nice.
Henry Atticus (Huck) - Ooh, don't like Henry. Or Huck. But Atticus is nice.
Charles Timothy (Charlie) - I don't like Timothy, but I love Charles.
William Brian (Liam) - Other middle name possibilities are: Frederick, Emerson, Robert, Andrew, or Peter. I love William with the nickname Liam (which, I confess, never even occurred to me until I joined this group). I'm not so fond of Brian, although I don't dislike it, but I think William Robert, William Andrew, and William Peter all sound great.
