I know all of this might sound a bit crazy, but If I have a kid, I'd like to name him/her somehow after my major musical/artistic inspirations, which are Taylor Hanson and Christina Aguilera.
Now, Taylor's full name is Jordan Taylor, and he's named Jordan Ezra his first born, who goes by Ezra. Christina Aguilera is married to Jordan Bratman and it looks like she's gonna name the child they're expecting after him (rumor has it it's a boy).

So eventually I guess I might take into consideration to use Jordan, at least for a boy (I d.on't like it on girls).
The meaning of the name quite appeals to me, because it means "to flow downward", and "river" is my favorite meaning in a name. I also know my SO wouldn't mind, as he used to be a basketball player and Michael Jordan is one of his idols.

But cutting to the chase, WDYT of the name Jordan? Better as a first name or middle name? What combinations would you suggest? :)

Because I have a niece named Jordan Nicole (she's 14 and named after the character in the movie Cocktail), I associate it primarily with girls. My fiance has a nephew named Jordan Levi, though, and he's 3 (I think?), so there's an option. I don't much like the name myself, boy or girl :/

my brother's name is Jordan Paul. I really like the name and definitely associate it with boys. It really fits my brother as well.

My middle name is Jordan. My mum gave my sister and I both unisex names just in case we were transgendered, and I really like it as a middle name.

Jordan is one of those names I have always been neutral on, at least for a boy. I think I prefer it as a middle name.

I like Jordan. It was over used for a while but the fad sort of died out a bit therefore my liking for it is growing.

I despise the name. It's been used so much, it's not special or unique anymore. All of the mean popular people seem to be named Jordan, that or the really stupid girls who the teachers refer to as 'Barbie' to their face.

I think it would be nicer as a middle name but to be honest that's mainly because I think it's a little girly and a little tacky. I used to think it was ok, but now I really can't get beyond the glamour model.

Growing up I knew a girl named Jordan but it was pronounced Jord-Anne. Then she moved away and came back in highschool and now it's just Jord-in like all the boys.
ANYWAY, I like the name, for boys. It's practical and normal but not going to be overly popular. Although I do know about 7 Jordans.
