A colleague of mine brought her daughter to university last week. My colleague's name is Alana, her daughter is called Meadow (age 2).
I almost laughed out loud. What do you think?

I think it's cute but it's not really something I can see someone being able to carry into old age. Well, if you were southern. I guess I can see an eighty year old 'Gramma Meadow' or 'Miss Meadow.'

It's cute. A lot less cute on a grown woman though.

I don't normally like names like this.. I hate names like Autumn, Spring, heaven forbid Winter, Apple and other such names.. but I really like it. It might be the fact that I am from Georgia, it might be that I am a hippy at heart (shudder) Atleast it is not Sunshine Meadow or Meadow Brook.. just meadow isn't bad at all.

To be honest, I really like the name Meadow. I'm afraid it's too hippie-ish for me to ever be used, though. It's such a pretty name, but I would want my child to be taken seriously, too (especially as an adult), and I'm not sure that will be possible when you're called Meadow.
Love the name Alana too, by the way =)

yeah, the name itself i don't mind, but i also think it's too hippie-ish. & does not carry well into adulthood.

like Meadow on the Sopranos, never took her seriously, either lol

Paul Walker (actor, Fast & Furious, Varsity Blues, for those who don't know who he is), has a daughter Meadow Rain. do not like.

I like it, but I know that I couldn't give it to a child. It's totally a name for a kid that smokes a lot of pot.

I wouldn't mind using it for a nickname, instead of Sunshine or whatever.

Makes me think of Meadow Soprano, which in turn makes me think of mezzo soprano.

Not awful really, I like it much better than most place/thing/nature names. Like Sunshine or Autumn---Meadow is much better.

I am sure it would sound a little odd on an 40 year old buisness woman, though.

I really like it for a cat. Meadow was going to be my next cat's name since I thought it went well with my current cat, Willow, but I decided recently it was probably not a good idea to bring another cat into the household considering how neurotic Will is.
