I like johanna.. but I hate seeing Kimberly butchered and added with Lynn.. it's hideous! Perhaps I'm biased cause the name Kimberly holds a VERY special place in my heart... but butchering it is horrible...

Why not just go with Kimberly? (I was more wondering if your parents gave a reason.)

My mom pick it (of course), and it's funny that it got the response it did here, as I have always thought the name was beautiful (and I'm not a fan of Kimberly). I am definitely biased as my sister holds a VERY special place in my heart. We could call her Leonard and I'd probably like it LOL just because I love her so much. Also, we never call her Kimberlyn, it's Kimi. (Which I don't even call her Kimi usually as I have silly nicknames for her.) I think my mom just made it up like all the other names with -lyn on the end.

Hehe, yeah I'm like that to I mean how you like Kimberly because it's special, and who cares what anyone else thinks anyway. I was curious to know what people thought of it, as I have never asked. And it's not something you hear often... haha now I know why lol!

I like Johanna, but I'm not really a fan of Kimberlyn. I'd like it better if it was Kimberly (although I don't particularly like that name, either). It just seems really made up to me.

No she HATES Kim (and naturally she gets called Kim a lot.) She much rather be called Kimi, but she is only 20, so it's not like she is 40 and wants to go by Kimi.
