I definitely LOVE Avery. It's my daughter's name! (Avery Lorelei) :)

Never thought of Luca for a girl before. Would you pronounce it "Loo-kah"?

Avery is nice for a girl. It def. sounds more girl that boy to me.

Luca is 100% a boys name to me. I love it for boys, I do not like it for a girl.

I know a girl called Luka. It suits her remarkably well =)
I'm not a fan of the name Avery in general, but I like it better on girls than on boys.

Although in Italy Luca is only a boy's name, I really like it for a girl, I've taken after Jennie Garth's :P she's married to an italian, but one of her daughters is Luca Bella, I think that's very cute

I don't particularly like Avery (I somehow consider it in the same category as Riley, Bailey, etc.).

Luca I love, but ONLY on males. Only.

Avery's not unisex. It's a boy's name. There are very few names that are actually unisex in origin. That said, it's used for girls a lot now and has a more feminine feel, I agree. While I'm against using boy names on girls in general, I have a soft spot for this one.

Make Luca into Lucia and it's about 50 times better. Besides being a boy's name, I don't like the sound of Luca much.

I agree with what someone said up there. You gotta make Luca into Lucia for it to work for a girl. Luca is definitely a boy's name to me.

Avery. Eh, I don't know. I don't really like it to begin with, but I guess it could work on a girl.

I don't like either one on a girl. Luca is totally a boy's name to me, and I think with the popularity of the ER character by that name, people will DEFINITELY assume it's a boy. I think Avery is a really ugly name on either gender, but it's worse on a girl.

I don't like either of them. Luca/Luka is okay on a boy.

No, no, no.

Both are boy names. If you like Luca and 'unisex' Avery for girls, you like Elizabeth and Leslie/Lesley for boys, no? Since so many girls are already named Avery, you may get away with it, but otherwise...

NO.

i dont like avery one bit for either sex. i dont know why, i have just never liked it. its very snobbish sounding to me.

i prefer luca for a boy. not wild about it at all for a girl.
