What do you guys think of 'month' names? Which do you think work, which gender.
I love April, August, June and May. I think they're nicer for girls though.
What would you match them with? Middle names/Sib sets?

I think April Rose is really cute!

I love April, I actually had that on my list of names before I found out I was having a boy. I think all those names work best for girls.

My favorite month names are May (but spelled Mae) and September. I would probably never use September but I love Mae.

I love the name May. I really like Lilly May or May Lilly.

I read the name March in a book.
It was short for Marcheline (not so desirable) but it seemes cute.

I know a lot of April's
I don't associate the name with the month, and I have no idea why.
My foster sister April used to say that when she had PMS and being a bitch it was her evil twin May coming out.

You know what I really like August on a girl. More than a guy. I guess its a guilty pleasure, I'd probably never use it cause she'd always be mistaken for a guy.

I LOVE the name April. Love. It's pretty much on top of my list =)
I like May too, although I like other spellings (Mae, for example) better =). And June is cute.

In my opinion, August is possibly the ugliest sounding month, I see nothing attractive about it.

My mom did consider (just briefly) calling me December, after my birth month.
I wouldn't have minded it.
I think they sound ridiculous if you try to pair them with a regular name, for example December Elizabeth. That just sounds weird to me. December Ann might have worked (thinking of my own mn).

On the other hand, other names that are also nouns (like Rose) might work very well, if you don't mind the association (ie April Rose, as in 'rose of april').

I don't think I'd ever use them, but I guess October would be cute for a pumpkin baby! :D I can't think of proper combos, though.

I like January and May...but I doubt I'd use them.

I love May. I don't like March, April, or June at all.

I'd never use them, but I think January, July, September, November, December, and particularly October would be pretty names.

Sorry, February and August.

I like June and May, but more for middle names.

June is my mum's name, cause she was born in June. Inventive, eh? Anyway, she hates it.

I don't think I'd actually use any of them, but the only usable ones, IMO, are May [Mae], June & August.

If they had to be names they'd be like this:

January - girl
February - girl
April - girl
May - girl
June - girl
August - boy
September - girl

They mostly work for girls.

April and June would be a cute sibset.

April Lorraine is the only middle name I can come up with.

Good thing I came across this post as I was just about to make the exact same one out of curiosity.

January - no, think it would make a bad name
February - no, think it would make a bad name
March - definitely not, as it's also a verb
April (g) - hmmm...better in French - Avril
May (g) - no - as my Grandma has gone on about since my cousin, Sophie, was born and her middle name was Mae - it's short for Mabel, and with this name my taste matches my Grandma's.
June (g) - nms
July (g) - like as an alternative to Julie
August (g) - pretty, probably the best "month name"
September - no, think it would make a bad name
October (g) - probably sounds weird to say, after I just said January/February/September/November/December would make bad names, but I think October has a certain ring to it. Weird, I know.
November - no, think it would make a bad name
December - no, think it would make a bad name

Should probably have mentioned - silly to use a "month name" if the kid's not born in that month.

Should also probably mention, that I know August is usually considered a masculine name, but as I said, I think it sounds pretty, so by convention I think of it as a feminine name. Augustus to me is the masc. name.
