Oct. 6th, 2007 11:45 amWhat do you guys think of 'month' names? Which do you think work, which gender.
I love April, August, June and May. I think they're nicer for girls though.
What would you match them with? Middle names/Sib sets?
I think April Rose is really cute!

Date: 2007-10-06 04:15 am (UTC)I don't associate the name with the month, and I have no idea why.
My foster sister April used to say that when she had PMS and being a bitch it was her evil twin May coming out.

Date: 2007-10-06 07:01 am (UTC)I like May too, although I like other spellings (Mae, for example) better =). And June is cute.

Date: 2007-10-06 12:41 pm (UTC)I wouldn't have minded it.
I think they sound ridiculous if you try to pair them with a regular name, for example December Elizabeth. That just sounds weird to me. December Ann might have worked (thinking of my own mn).
On the other hand, other names that are also nouns (like Rose) might work very well, if you don't mind the association (ie April Rose, as in 'rose of april').
I don't think I'd ever use them, but I guess October would be cute for a pumpkin baby! :D I can't think of proper combos, though.

Date: 2007-10-06 03:47 pm (UTC)I'd never use them, but I think January, July, September, November, December, and particularly October would be pretty names.
Sorry, February and August.

Date: 2007-10-06 07:15 pm (UTC)I don't think I'd actually use any of them, but the only usable ones, IMO, are May [Mae], June & August.

Date: 2007-10-06 09:14 pm (UTC)January - girl
February - girl
April - girl
May - girl
June - girl
August - boy
September - girl
They mostly work for girls.
April and June would be a cute sibset.
April Lorraine is the only middle name I can come up with.

Date: 2007-10-10 07:19 pm (UTC)January - no, think it would make a bad name
February - no, think it would make a bad name
March - definitely not, as it's also a verb
April (g) - hmmm...better in French - Avril
May (g) - no - as my Grandma has gone on about since my cousin, Sophie, was born and her middle name was Mae - it's short for Mabel, and with this name my taste matches my Grandma's.
June (g) - nms
July (g) - like as an alternative to Julie
August (g) - pretty, probably the best "month name"
September - no, think it would make a bad name
October (g) - probably sounds weird to say, after I just said January/February/September/November/December would make bad names, but I think October has a certain ring to it. Weird, I know.
November - no, think it would make a bad name
December - no, think it would make a bad name
