New here and newly pregnant

Hi all,
I am 10 weeks pregnant and even though it is incredibly premature we are starting to think about names.
Here are what we have so far. Thoughts and suggestions welcome. :)
Boys:
Gabriel William
Joshua William
Isiah James
Alexander James
Julian _______
Elijah James
Elliot _______

(William is for my late father, James is my brother)

Girls:
Isabella Rose
Maddelena Rose
Aveanna Rose (ah-vay-ah-na)
Sophie Rose

(Rose is my Mom's middle name and we'd like to use it)

At first we were having a harder time with boys names but those seem to be coming more quickly to us now. It is way, way too early but I just have a feeling we will have a boy. :) Help us out!

Lol, Welcome. I'm 10 weeks today and we've had our names picked out for 1.5 years ;) I love Gabriel and Julian (Our boy pick!) I like Sophie. Aveanna is nice. It took me a second to look over it before I decided I liked it, but I do.

Hey, thanks so much, fellow prego! I had a m/c in July and we lost a twin to this pregnancy so I feel worried even thinking about these sort of things, but I am getting excited. When will you register and things like that? Also, if you don't mind my asking...what middle name would you use for Julian?

I already started my registry! But it's just for us right now, to keep track of things I'm interested in researching. The second we find out the sex, I'm going ALL OUT though :D I'm sorry to hear about your MC, we tried for a year to get pregnant before this baby 'took'. I am JUST NOW starting to come off the constant panic that something is going to go wrong. I still freak over every twinge :) You'll be fine though, it gets better.

I have a strong feeling this is a girl, but for a boy we'll use Julian, and call him Jude mostly. My husband is dead set on Calvin for a middle name, after his late grandfather (and only father figure growing up). I personally hate the name, but love the reference and I don't mind since it's so special to him.

I'm not sure if I replied to this yet, but if I did, forgive me! Good to know about the registry, I feel kind silly for wanting to make one already, but it will help organize us...I am getting the itch to do so, too. We walked through Babies R Us and it was enough to satisfy me for a bit. It is so true about freaking out over every little twinge, I agree. In fact I left school early today (I'm a teacher) b/c when I went to the BR I was bleeding. The bleeding has stopped now but I was so scared. Had a sono and it revealed perfect growth and a strong HB in the 180's. OY. I don't know how many more scares I can take...ugh.

I love the name Julian. It is hard for me not to associate a name with a student that I have or have had, and this semester I have a kid named Julian who I love, so it is a positive association! I like that your husband wants to use a family name, very cool. :) So, since you think it is a girl, what name(s) are you considering?

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear about the bleeding and extra stress. I'm glad the bebee is doing ok though. I'd be scared to death as well! I totally understand babies r us, we drive 45 minutes every few weeks just to drool over stuff :) If it's a girl, we'll probably go with Charis Rebecca, though Kaida is a backup. I'm also trying to get him to like Norah, but he won't go for it.

OMG, I LOVE NORAH! That is soooo pretty! You can most definitely add me, though I don't post much, I read all the time! I am a teacher and I teach voice lessons at home too and for some ridiculous reason I thought it would be a good idea to take three graduate classes and finish my Master's this semester, so this is why I don't post as much. Feel free to add me and you can read a bit of the lovely IVF crap I went through, there is a really long entry that chronicles all the aches and pains I went through to get here. Thanks! Right before I got pregnant (I had to do in vitro, so there were surgeries and many injections) I went to a Reiki healer to relax me and her name was Aveanna. I just thought it was so pretty and different. :)

I agree about Madelena. I still don't particularly like it, but it looks nicer/cleaner than Maddelena.

Yes, I agree that Madelena is better. Isabella is a family name, not hopping on the bandwagon of popularity...and I do like your spelling of Avianna. Avanna & Ivanna are a diff. name though...Hmm...Thanks for your input!

I really like Aveanna Rose for a girl. Sophie's one of my favorite names too!
For boys the best is Julian, but I have to say I don't dislike any but Joshua.

Thank you very much. :) You know, we were set on Joshua for a while but I am more partial to Julian now. It is hard, being a teacher trying to pick a name. There is always a kid who has the name you are thinking of and you tend to make that association. :)

i love elijah and elliot and gabriel, however you really cant go wrong with any of the boys names you chose. i love that you are honoring your father with the middle name. i am a big believer that middle names should have some kind of meaning behind them.

i think my favorite girls name off of your list is isabella. sophie is actually my favorite girls name, and i plan on naming a daughter sophie colleen (after my late mother), so i am biased! isabella is gorgeous though, and i adore the nickname issy.

That is awesome that you are honoring your Mom, too. How special it will be to all those who meet your daughter who knew your mother. :)

Isabella was my grandmother, so another fam. name there. :)

I LOVE your boy names. However, one thing: do you mean Isaiah? I've never heard of Isiah before. I prefer Isaiah.

Gabriel, Elijah, Elliot, and Alexander are my favorites, and I don't think Gabriel is used nearly as much as some names; I think it's great. I think Gabriel James, Elijah William, Elliot James or Elliot William, and Alexander James are all great combos.

For the girls, I'm a little less of a fan. I do like Sophie, but I prefer it as a nickname for Sophia, which I think sounds a little more adult/sophisticated. Besides, Sophia Rose sounds so much prettier to me than Sophie. Either way, that'd be my first choice in names.

Isabella is okay, but overused. Maddelena and Aveanna just seem so made up. I'd definitely go with Sophie/Sophia.

I love the name Sophie, but agree that Sophia sounds more adult. Madelena is okay, but I prefer Magdalena--it sounds more complete to me, though that's likely just because I knew someone named that first.

Gabriel William - I never used to like Gabriel but it's really starting to grow on me now.

Joshua William - Joshua used to be one of my favourite names, it sounds a little boring to me now because i know of so many. However Joshua William is still a great name.

Isiah James - Definitely prefer the spelling Isaiah, and i LOVE it!

Alexander James - Good solid name =)

Julian _______ - I don't like Julian, i've always thought it sounded too feminine. Some middle name suggestions though: Julian Alexander, Julian Elijah, Julian Gabriel, Julian Nathanial, Julian Daniel

Elijah James - I love love love the name Elijah.

Elliot _______ - Love it too! We've got the cutest kid at my work called

Elliot, so i guess im a little biased lol.



Girls:
Isabella Rose - Loving the name Isabella lately! Isabella Rose sounds v.pretty!

Maddelena Rose - I don't really like this at all.

Aveanna Rose (ah-vay-ah-na) - Eh it's ok. If u want it pronounced Ah-nuh, rather than Ann-uh then i'd suggest spelling it Aveana.

Sophie Rose - Very cute. I think i slightly prefer Sophia over Sophie, but i do like it alot!

Gabriel and Julian are my two favorite boys names. If I were to use Julian for a boy, I'd use Thomas for the middle name.

James, Alexander and Julian are amazing names! I love them. Gabriel, Isaiah and Elijah always feel too biblical for me, and I've never liked Elliot or Joshua, but thats just me!
However, out of your names I think Julian Isaiah and Julian Elliot don't sound to bad!

Your girls names I really only like Sophie, but then I'm really picky with girls names! I LOVE Rose though!
