An internet acquaintance of mine met her now SO through the internet. They're expecting their first child together for this winter and it's a girl. They're in Denmark and she's part english. They haven't settled for a first name, but they're toying with the idea of using Java as a middle name, as a tribute to technology, which they credit for bringing the 2 of them together.

I think Java sounds nice, and it looks close to Jada, but it makes me think of the tea. Exotic enough, that's for sure. But naming your kid after computer applications? I'm not sure what I think of it.

WDYT? Do you find their choice to be tacky?

P.S. I think they're considering Anabel and Sofie for first names.

I don't mind the name Java but I think there could be better choices. The brands of the computers the used for example or just... I don't know. I suppose Java is the best thing to use...

Sony wouldn't be to bad.

If it were a boy it'd be easier though, lol.
