I was looking through my brother's school photos, and I noticed there are 2 kids with the name 'Jade' in his year.
A boy, and a girl.
Which do you prefer it on, if either?

It is one of those names that I don't mind on a boy but I would never ever use it because it is widely thought of as a girls name.

On the right guy it could be very attractive, but it's a name to live up to. You can't be a soft office worker named Jade. That's not hot.

I like it quite a bit on a girl, but I'd probably prefer it as a middle name, were I to use it at all.

I guess it just sound incongruous on a boy, since I've met and heard of female Jades.

my little cousin (a girl) is Taylor Jade and my brother-in-law is Zachary Jade. I think they both sound nice so I don't mind it on either.

I like it as a girl's name. There were a set of Chinese twins in college who had the names "Jade" and "Silver".
I like Jaden for a boy.

This name has just recently grown on me. I love it on a girl, but as someone mentioned above, it could be a tough act for some guys to pull off. My initial assumption upon seeing it on a little boy would be that he's a total sissy just waiting to be pushed into the sandbox on the playground. On an adult, my first thought would probably be that this guy either A) is really a woman or B) wants to be a woman.
