Sep. 9th, 2007 04:16 pmI work as a cashier, so when I work I have to check customer's credit cards, and thus have read some interesting, unusual, and awful names. I started keeping a list, and here it is so far:
Kinnegan
Easter
Corny (I am told that this used to be a nickname for Cornelius, which is a decent name, but why a person would want to go by Corny, I don't know!)
Trona
Theodosia
Morning Star (her first name, not first and middle, fyi)
Dagny
Bertha
Feather
Dimple (so, so, awful...)
Christianne
Hyacinth
Lezly (ouch, spelling)
Vulcan
Gwentha
Jacquetta
And today I was ringing up a lady who had her little daughter with her and as she was giving me the money, the girl made a break for the gumball machines outside, and the mom called after her, "Visa, get back here! Visa!" She said the name a few times, so I know that I didn't just mishear it. She named her daughter Visa. WTYT?

Date: 2007-09-09 10:44 pm (UTC)- Easter isn't so bad
- Corny Collins anyone?
- Trona... eh? Someone's parents liked Tron a bit too much
- Theodosia; I actually really like this one
- Morning Star, Moon Unit, Stargirl... Star is trendy
- Dagny is possibly a family name?
- Bertha is horrible
- Feather...
- Dimple...
- Christianne... I wonder if that is just pronounced Kristen or something.
- Hyacinth is not the flower name I would first choose but whatever.
- Lezly... uh, wow.
- Gwentha is... interesting?
- Jacquetta. Isn't that Spanish for jacket?
