Hm, this meaning sounded a little "created" to me, so I googled around a bit to see if I could find any more information for you.

I really lucked out. I ran across a post by a well-known onomastician in response to a query about Ferelith's etymology. He says it is Scottish in origin, but the meaning is unknown (http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=328884&board=gen).
