Doing some data entry and I came across a name, Sanibel. It's actually a street name, but I thought it might make a pretty person name, too. Thoughts?

There's a Sanibel Island in Florida that's a popular vacation spot - I think it might be kind of like naming your kid Myrtle or... South Padre? :)

Yep. What she said.

Anything that starts with Sani sounds to me like a Sanitary product.

Me too...sounds like a name you would encounter written on some sort of industrially produced product in a public toilet.

Reminds me of Hannibal.

It's a great place to visit. They have tons of sand dollars. ;)

But, having lived my whole life in Florida, there is no way I'd be able to shake the association.

I can see how it could be thought of as a name, but to me it also sounds like the name of a pharmacy product. Maybe because in italian we have the "sani e belli" phrase, that means "healthy and good looking".
