[identity profile] erwin-rules-yay.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hi, I'm 16 years old. My aunt is 27 weeks pregnant with a little girl!! She already has a 9 month old son, Jackson. The reason I am posting on here is because she is having a major struggle with names. She just can't seem to find a name she really loves or that goes with Jackson. These are some names she has in mind: Riley, Morgan, Campbell, and Peyton. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!(Middle names also welcome) :)

Riley, Morgan, Campbell, and Peyton: NO. Why can't people stick to giving a girl name to a girl, and a boy name to a boy?

Yes, I am unfortunately aware that people are using unisex names lately. Just because other people are doing it doesn't mean I have to like it. I know little girls AND boys with those names. There are so few good boys names as it is; look what happened to Ashley, Kelly, and Stacy.

i'm not fond of campbell, but i think riley, morgan and peyton are cute names for girls. i realize they are unisex, but i have only known females with those names as well.

Well, there's Morgana, that's a girls name, but then I am the kind of person to give Dayle as a middle name to my daughter.
Carol, Kim, and Jocelyn, Jody, are a few examples that were male names and women have over the course of time taken them over. I know two men by the name Kim and one male by the name of Jody, but he goes by Jude.
It's like the name Gabriel, and Daniel, both male names but girls have made it into girl names, like Gabrielle, and Danielle. Saddly, I hate those names as I think of them as male names.

But see, at least those are female equivalents of the boy names, instead of the boy name itself. There's Jack and Jackie, Robert and Roberta, Albert and Alberta, Harry and Harriet, Henry and Henrietta.

I think it's weird that when I have kids, all of their friends will be Jack, Jacob, David, Robert, William, Charlie, Grayson (gag me), Brayden, and Reese and half of those will be girls.

I like the name Reese for a girl over a boy. I have a friend who has twins boy/girl and she named her girl Reese and the other Ben. BTW Jackie is a male name. Just to let you know.

I meant Jackie as a nickname for Jacqueline & its multiple spellings.
