Hi. I'm new to the community and thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Brianna. I'm 21. I have a hubby and an almost 8 month old son named Gavin. I just found out yesterday that another one's on the way (due late March or early April... according to all online calculations, it's April 3rd, but I'll wait for the doc to give me it officially). My husband and I want to keep naming our kids Gaelic names, so I thought it'd be interesting to join and read what other parents are thinking about naming their kid.

If Gavin was a girl he would have been either Bronwynn Mharie or Guinevere Daenerys.

Don't know yet. We're actually going to take a different approach. We're thinking that we're not going to find out the sex of the baby until the birth. with that in mind, both he and I are (and we're just thinking about this right now), going to both pick out 3 or 4 names and have those in mind and then when he or she is born we will each say what we think that he/she looks like and from there decide on a name. We had Gavin's picked out long before we had him, but we're thinking that this time perhaps we want to do it different.

It is Welsh but a lot of Scottish people named their daughters that. Guinevere and Daenerys aren't Gaelic names either, but my hubby really likes Guinevere and Daenerys is from a book we both really love.

my brothers name is Sean, which is one of my favourite irish names, though i think its a bit too popular and obvious.

Both of our mom's names are Mary so we wanted a form of that but I didn't want Mary. So, I went with the scots gaelic version of it and got Mharie (the spelling is a bit different though).
