Evie

I think the name Evie for a girl is adorable. However, I do not picture it on an adult. So, I would only use it as a nickname for someone, that way they could have the alternative to go by a full name when they are older if they would like.
However, I am not a fan of the name Evelyn, even though I love the nickname Evie

My question is...what other names besides Evelyn could I use the nickname Evie for? What do you think of it?

Thanks

i went to school with a girl whose nickname was Evie; her full name was (and i think this is how she spelt it) Evelyse.

pronounced E-vah-lease

i like the name, but i am unsure if i like it on a girl... it's actually growing on me.

i knew a girl evan too (i believe the spelling was somewhat altered, though.)
but it's really a boy's name. it's going to sound dated and trendy, just like ryan and dylan for girls, to use evan on a girl. and it would be a shame to use a boys' name when there are such lovely girls' names for evie!
what about ever? i have a half brother with the name, but since it's a word and not a name, i don't think it has a specific gender association.
other than that, my vote goes to evelyn or eve, or even evangeline, though i wish it wasn't so religious sounding. evie would work for genevieve, too.
evie is a really adorable name, by the way. :)

This post reminded me of another option - Evangelise.

What about just Eve? That can always be changed to Evie by friends/family, but it sounds fun as just plain Eve.

I like Eve, Eva, and Evelyn the most. Evette would work too.

I noticed everyone keeps saying Evangeline. I'm not sure how you feel about older names, but my dad had an aunt named Evadine.

(I admit, it's unusual.)

I'd probably just go with Eve, but I do know of a girl who was called Genevieve and she was known as Eve/Evie.
