Does anyone know how to pronounce the Dutch surname "D'Ooge"?

my cousin took 3-4yrs of German, but she said she has no idea, the only thing she could think is something similiar to "Dooga/Duga"

Are you sure this is Dutch? Because it doesn't look like it... At least I've never seen something like it before!

It's the name of some of my ancestors who emigrated from Oostburg in the 1800s.

It looks like a very very old fashioned last name, to be honest. I never met anyone with that name (and I'm Dutch). Anyhow, it would be pronounced Dow-geh (Dow as in 'low'). The 'g' is difficult to describe, 'cause the English language doesn't know that sound. It sounds like the way the 'j' is pronounced in Spanish =)

It's probably because I miss my hometown so much, but seeing "Nederlanders" in the subject made me smile. I grew up in Nederland, Texas. Founded by the Dutch, so it makes sense. I have no clue about the name though, but it looks interesting.
