School refuses kid because of his name

His last name is 'Hell'. Apparently his parents or grandparents were immigrants from Austria, and in German 'Hell' just means 'very light'. I even believe it's a fairly common name there, but I'm not sure about that.
I think it's ridiculous, though, to refuse a boy because of his name.

I knew someone whose last name was Hejl, pronounced Hell. I think he had similar origins as this family.

lol I guess I can see their point (that with a name like that in a catholic school maybe you are better off with your mum's name) but it's pretty stupid to even mention it let alone enforce that. It's not their place at all.

Wouldn't it be funny if the parents happily complied with the request and enrolled him under the mum's maiden name... and then hers turned out to be Satan
