seen on the food network:

Gulbin (girl)

i googled it & found it is a German last name... seems a little harsh for a female name?

It's better than naming your kid Vagina.

I think all my favourite guys names are boring :P As in, my favourite names are like James, Joseph, Benjamin etc... but even though I like them, I still consider them to be completely boring. I just can't bring myself to like any unusual guys name that I've heard so far. But when the time comes to actually name a kid, I will probably try to find one that's slightly less common if I can. I would rather them not have the same name as someone in my family or someone else that I know really well, and when your favourite names are that boring then it's pretty limited lol

Is she Turkish? The element "Gul" means flower or rose in Turkish, so to me this looks like it could be a Turkish name.

You're right, it's a feminine Turkish name. Gül means "rose" and bin (sounds like "bean") means "thousand." So it's like "a thousand roses."

Definitely a girly name. I think it sounds pretty in Turkish ; )

It reminds me of burps. I think because it sounds like a cross between gulping and gobbling, and so I imagine someone eating in a really disgusting way.
