Date: 2007-07-01 02:42 pm (UTC)Personally, because Addison was so uncommon before Grey's Anatomy, I associate it with the disease much more than I associate the more common names like Alexander, Benjamin, Brooke, Hailey, Leigh, etc. with their diseases.
And yeah.. Grey's Anatomy does suck. The only doctor show that isn't complete crap and kicks the hell out of the other sucky doctor shows is House, M.D. Best show ever.

Date: 2007-07-01 02:51 am (UTC)my son's cousin (my ex's nephew) is Kaiden. i am really shocked since the names they had picked out before that weren't bad, or that popular (except for Gage)... then they came outta left field with Kaiden! lol

Date: 2007-07-01 03:18 pm (UTC)Here are the percentages of different spellings of Aidan added together in the top 500 names.
0.5302 + 0.4587 + 0.1647 + 0.0641 + 0.0504 = 1.2681%
Spellings: Aiden, Aidan, Adan, Aden, Aidyn. I'm sure there are more if you do top 1000, but I'm not that bored.
That actually puts it above the #1 name of Jacob because Jacob's percentage is 1.1327%, and even adding Jakob to that only changes it to 1.1857%.
I also saw about 6 versions of Caiden, 4 Braydens, 3 Jalens, and two Jaidens. And Jaiden and Jalen are considered unisex by a lot of people, so you'd have to add the girl and boy versions to get an accurate veiw of how popular the name is.

Date: 2007-07-01 06:07 am (UTC)Oh, and Nevaeh in the top 50 just makes my head ache. :(

Date: 2007-07-01 09:05 am (UTC)I'm really disheartened to see names like Nevaeh, Makayla, and Jayden in the top 50 names. I'm also surprised that Kaylee, Destiny, Addison, Sydney, and Katherine-with-a-K are so high up. Especially for Kaylee and Katherine (and Kaitlyn), I would have thought the variety of spellings would put each version of the name lower in the rankings.
