My sister just gave birth:

Jaya Renae.

Jaya joins a sister, Kaelyn Marie, a brother, Ashton Michael, and two cousins (my brother's children, not mine), Katherine Sistina Skye and MaKenzi Renee (yeah, yeah, I didn't name the kid, don't care).

Two questions:
Is there a reason MaKenzie has two capitals? and
Is Renee/Renae a family name?

I like Katherine and Kaelyn. And actually Jaya, too, but I would pair it with something a little more traditional.

I have no idea about MaKenzi. I've never even met the mother (I live out of state, and when I've visited my family there, she's never showed any interest in dropping by to say hi), but my parents tell me she's young and stupid. I believe it.

MaKenzi's middle name came from her mother's best friend, Marcia. Marcia (who my brother almost married--how awkward is that?) has the middle name Renee.

Jaya's middle name comes from my sister's best friend, Rendi Renae. I'm guessing she doesn't even remember that it is also MaKenzi's middle name.

I'd never heard Jaya before. My sister's friend Rendi just gave birth to a Jaelee, and tried to convince my sister to name this baby Jaelyn. I talked her out of it when I pointed out that it would be absolutely retarded to have a Kaelyn and a Jaelyn in the same household, but I guess she wasn't willing to stray too far, so came up with something similar.

If "MaKenzi" is not a point for 'young and stupid', I sort of think naming your baby after someone your husband (girlfriend? you never mentioned) almost married so of is. Even if it is your best friend.

Husband. I'm fairly sure naming the baby after Marcia was in honor of the fact that my brother and his wife were introduced by Marcia. It was 10 years after their own engagement fell through, and they had remained friends. They still are. So it's not an issue.

I like Katherine, and I like Ashton Michael.

My boyfriend's carpet python is named Jaya. (And we still haven't named the new boa!!)

I really dislike everythinig else though haha, with the exception of Katherine.

I think Jaya and Kaelyn are pretty close for a sibset.
I'm also not too fond of how they sound 'exotic'.
I also dislike Renée and all various spellings.

Ashton Michael, on the other hand, is a perfectly eligible name.

Katherine Sistina Skye also is not bad, the names sound a bit thrown in together, because they have such different origins (Sistina being very Ancient Roman), but at the same time it does make for unique in a good way.

MaKenzi Renee is just mean.
