My friend is having a baby!!!!!

A friend of mine is having a little girl she is due in the middle of August her and her boyfriend are naming her Devyn. When I firts heard this I thought  Devyn for a girl and with a Y! but it has grown on me what do you think?

When I was about 10 my favorite boys' name was Devin.

It's all right. I like it with the Y but it's still so boy-y to me.

The first Devon I ever knew was a girl. She's in her twenties now and spells it Devon. Because of her, Devon is basically a girl name in my mind.

Devyn is okay, but I think Devon is much better.

or Devin! I think that's the best spelling, even for a girl.

Devyn sounds more like a girl's name to me.

I was friends with a Devin once, and he was a boy.

I prefer it spelled Devon. The y seems out of place.

I don't like it at all, the y is especially awful.

I know several Devon/Devyns that I'm not fond of, so to me it has a bad connotation. That aside, it's not a horrible name, but not one of my favourites either. I like Devon a lot better than Devyn, though.

I went to school with a Devin (boy) and my ex's ex was named Devlyn...and it suited her. I like Devin and, while the y seems to make it more feminine for some reason, I still prefer Devin.

i know a devon. at first i though it was a little weird, but it's really a suitable name for her. i like it better with the o than the y. it kind of seems like trying to be too trendy with the y...

I think it's terrible, sorry.

I can cope with Devon or even Devin on a boy...

No, no, no.
The names Devin/Devon/Devyn are very masculine to me. And the y makes it especially awful.
