Just heard about a baby girl born recently.....

Neenuh Lylyen

Took me about 3 minutes to figure out WTF Lylyen was.

The poor lass will put her name on her resume and the prospective employer's going to think she can't type.

For that alone she'll probably keep the name and change the spelling when she's old enough.

Assuming I am sounding it out correctly...

The sad thing is, Nina Lillian is a really pretty name.

Actually I've got to say, the worst part of this may actually be the "uh" instead of "a" because that looks sooo ugly in a phlegmy guttoral sort of way, wheareas the ys just look ugly in an unsophisticated sort of way....

Me too...I was saying "Lyle-en? Lie-Lion?" I finally got it.

This should be considered child abuse. Neenuh, indeed. Neenugh is more like it.

I didn't actually come up with Lillian until I read some of the comments. My first thought was Leelan like Leeland? Poor child.

I agree with krosp on the guttural "uh." I can imagine someone with a Germanic accent basically saying, "NeeNUCKH."

I had to say "Lylyen" aloud to get it.

why!?!?!
nina lillian is definitely a pretty name, but that "neenuh lylyen" looks awful. not to mention the fact that the poor girl will *never* find personalized pens/mugs/etc at theme parks (one of my main frustrations as a kid)
