Hello, my name is Elizabeth (Elizabeth Michele, to be exact) and I am one of those people who joined here when the spotlight came about. I decided not to post when it first happened because well... I knew there were like 100 posts a day for the first two or so weeks, so I decided to give it some time before annoying you. I have been a name collector since I was young (I still have all the lists from when I was probably 11 on), so I <3 names. Now that I am engaged and we are discussing our future kids names I am giddy to be able to share them.

Miriam R____ * (For my grandmother who has passed. We are looking for an R that fits the name. He doesn't like Rose which is my first choice)

the * means names that we have agreed on as a couple. We have come to the decision that we want to give our children names that are Jewish and Italian, as that is what our family lines identify with. It is REALLY hard to combine them though, as there are plenty of names that in with -a/ah and they sound ridiculous. And as a silly aside I am sad that my last name is going to start with J and so most of the J names I really adore are out the window because they sound vaguely silly together. Alas, you live, you learn. (and then you get Luvs).

And not to ramble uselessly, but I work at a preschool and that has been a good and bad things when it comes to names. Certain names, I am pretty sure, are ruined for good for me because they will forever be associated with you know, THAT kid who drove me up the wall. Occupational hazard I guess.

My sister's name is Rachel, or I would definitely do Miriam Rachel or Miriam Rae, but I like Miriam Rebeka as well. Hmmm... Food for thought. (Only slightly meant to be a pun for the adorableness of your icon)

It was from the movie "Van Wilder" and it has stuck with me since. Every time I see the name written I directly think of it that way. Still one of my favorites though, and as my FH has converted it has special meaning (in Jewish text Naomi was a convert).

Guy as is Guy. It is a compromise, because really no offense to the name Guido but I just don't think I could give that to my child. I have family friends who are a big old Italian family and Guido was the scary uncle who wore too much cologne and hugged me too much. *shudder*. Plus Guy is something my fiance adds to EVERYTHING. Like his best friend is Val-Guy, and if he doesn't know someone's name it is Guy so I like that it would be, "This is Elijah-Guy." :D

Oh, most definitely. I am acutely aware of annoying naming schemes for families. (I swear to you, kids at my school are named Hayden and Holden. Who does that?) I am also aware that if I did name them that I would end up just yelling AH! At my kids when I spaced names. :)

Miriam Rose is the absolute prettiest, I think. I might just have to wear him down over the years (we won't be having kids for a while. I have time. ;))

I love the middle name Ray (I would go with Rae, its a family spelling) but my sister is named Rachel and goes by Rae. I am Jewish and it is bad luck to name after someone is living so it is out of the running. But thanks for the suggestions! I am definitely going to pass them by the FH! :D
