I work in child care in the nursery room and we got a new kid the other day named Noa (prn same as Noah). Noa was dressed in a blue shirt and jeans with black pumps. When I went to change Noa's nappy...surprise! Noa was a GIRL! I had been saying "good boy!" to her all morning! I felt so bad!

So what do you think about gender swapping names? Good? Bad? Don't care?

My older son was VERY female looking until his long blonde curls were cut off. No matter HOW boyish I dressed him, we in variably got the "OH how PRETTY! what is her name?!" "His name is Seth Joseph"

Its not always that us parents who get that constantly mean to be rude, but when it happens 1028347089127308473 times a day to the kid dressed VERY VERY EXPRESSLY boyish, it gets agrivating.

Finally, we shaved his head into a military cut. But the second his hair gets slightly long again, like, say pixie-cut length (not very long at all!), its back to the "what a pretty little girl!".

*sigh* (using very old icon so you can see what he looked like at that time)
