what i need help on is this:
what most people who came across this name by audio or visual encounter would think.
what names go well together? i want my children to have one name be Biblical. but when it comes to girls, i draw a blank on how to combine names the go well together from the two lists i have.

Date: 2007-06-07 07:42 pm (UTC)Hannah - I hate this name. Sorry. It doesn't go with anything. I DO love her story though...and I would pick a name like Joy to go with it too. I know a Hannah Kathleen.
Jael* - Ew. It sounds masculine to me, and I think of the Top Model girl.
Leah - Love this name. Leah could go with a long name, like Melisande.
Lyida - Did you mean Lydia? Reminds me of the Amish, which is fine. 1 syllable mn.
Naomi - Naomi Roisin, Rowan.
Tamar* - so beautiful. This name needs a really feminine mn.
Damaris - not so into this...maybe nice with Rose, Joy, Ilse, etc.
Elizabeth - The best name that goes with everything, imo. Elizabeth Joyce is nice.
Janae* - ew. So 1980s.
Persis - sounds very Greek...and masculine.
Phoebe - cute! Long, lovely name. Or Pheobe Quinn. That's cute too.
Priscilla - Roisin again.
Amira* - LOVE this. Amira Vivienne is nice.
Adina - With the mn Quinn, so cute!
Amara - SOOOOO lovely! Amara Joyce, Amara Leigh, Amara Faith
Sarai - LONG and lovely again. Sarai Josephine, Sarai Rosalind
Melisande* - This is nice.
Phadre/Phaedra (FAY-drah)* - too weird for me
Bronwynn^ - precious...and trendy
Lorelei - so cute with Ruth. (
Adelaide* - so cute!
I already commented enough...

Date: 2007-06-08 12:54 pm (UTC)and i see what you mean about the 'upside down 'e'' - never looked at it that way before. hmmm.... so that eliminates what? 4 or 5 names off my lists? still leaves me hanging with a lot left over. the accent mark is optional, i just went with the language and used it.
glad we can agree on names. :) it'll make the seduction that much easier on my conscience.
