I think it's adorable, though definitely awkward for a fully grown man.

One of my friend's uncle's name is Rusty. It' ok I guess, he's a firefighter & has a company that does something (I forget LOL)... but it's ok, he's from the country though, so it kind of fits him, I can't explain it. I can't see say a doctor with that name though.

I went to high school with a kid named Rusty, I also had a coworker with the same name.

I think its a cute kid name, but I agree, it is awkward for an adult's name.

I went to junior high with a kid named Rusty. He even had rusty red hair, which is why I at first assumed it was just a nickname, but it was his real name. I suppose it makes a better nickname than real name, even though ((or because)) it's so cute. I agree with you; it would be odd for an adult.

I've never met any human with that name. I guess if an adult felt awkward with it, he could go by Russ. Then who knows- it could be short for Russell
