Does anyone have good nicknames that are derived from their given name? Or even other nicknames for other reasons? I don't ever pick a name unless it has a good nickname to go with it.

Here's some nicknames i've used on people
Shane- Okay, before he was born, his parents couldn't decide on "Shane" or "Noah". His middle name was going to be robert, but all of us youth kids grumbled that it was boring. We thought his middle name should be Bobert because that was so much better. HA! Anyway, then we compromised on the first name... Shanoah. His given name is Shane Robert, but has he ever been called that? Nope. It's always "Shanoah Bobert" or more often "Little Nasty." That sounds harsh, but it is playing off of his dad's nickname, Nasty.
Javaciea- We couldn't pronounce it, so we called him JavaMan
My brother Alex- A, Z, Z-man, Zander, Zander-pants (because he would "zander" his pants when he was a baby), Big Al, Buddy-Bud (pronounced Bwuddy-Bwud), Boppy, Bruddah, Bruddah-Man
Micah- Micah Micah Motorcycle, Micah Man, Micahiamcwoff (he was trying to say his whole name with his mouth full. Funny kid.)
Makayla- Kater, Katerbug, little missy, Little miss princess (she's my favorite little girl in the world... and she knows it.)
Hayley- Hay, Hay Hay, Bubba (this just seems to fit her... she's 3...)
Derek- Duck, Ducky, Duck-man (Hayley couldn't say Derek and what came out was "Deck." The name evolved from there.)
Scott- Scotty Wotty Potty ( We haven't called him this in 15 years, but i still think of this as his nickname.)
Tyler- Ty, TyTy, Tyloafer, Loaf, Loafie, The Loaf
My brother's girlfriend Maggie- Mags, Magaroo, Magarooni, Magarooski, Maglex (a combo of their names) and my personal favorite, Magalee.
Lindsay- Lin, Linerd, Lins, Linda, Lin Lin... usually whatever comes out of my mouth
Danielle- Danielly, Sticks, Nyelly
Lacey- Lace, Lace-Face, Lacey-Face, Lacey Darcy (she wants to marry Mr. Darcy... who can blame her?)
Jessica- Jess, Jessi, Jay, Sissica, Lucy (don't ask), sis, sissy, sista, muse
Sean- (His last name is Montoya...) Mon Seantoya.
Landon- my friend Holly is pregnant with Landon right now... and my favorite part about this whole thing is her baby bump. So... Landon will forever be called BUMPY.
My dog Alistair- Ali, AliBaba, Baba, Chubby, Chubaroo, Chuckles, Tons-of-Fun, Fatty McFatfat, Chubbles, Rolly (he's obese, what can i say?) Stupid, Airhead, Stickhead, Poophead, Alistair Buck Buck McFate,  etc...
My name is Rachel... not a lot you can do with that... but here's my nicknames: Raychie, Rach (My brother calls me this... i don't think he has ever called me Rachel), RachelLove, Chel, Honey Bucket, Missy R, Ray, Raychie-Paychie, Ratchel, Racket, Rach-e-l.
I like to play this game where i take the first sound of a first name and swap it with the first sound of the last name. John Brown would be Bohn Jrown. Or Ann Landers would be Lann Anders.... it's kind of fun, and that's where a lot of my nicknames for people come from. Of course, if your name is Chuck Fisher.... well then... we'd have problems.

I'm Melissa Rae and I've always been called Lissy Rae by family. I was Melissa in grade school, then Lissie from 8th grade until senior year in HS, except for a few special friends; One called me Skyns which came from Lissykins. He was Poo from Chrissypoo (Christopher). Then another called me Lizard because he thought Melissa was too boring. Oh, and my hair was green :-D An exboyfriend calls me Milli and Missa.

I've reverted back to the good ole fashioned Melissa, ever since college started.

My cousin's name is also Melissa Rae. My mom has always called her Lissy Rae, even to this day, and she is now 21. Speaking of nicknames, she also goes by "Alaska" (where she lived for most of her life).
