Hello, I’m new here, but I’ve always loved names. I’m only 16, so I’m not planning on my own kids anytime soon- but I am looking forward to it. My name is Magdalen Rose, Magdalen after Mary Magdalene in the bible, and Rose after my great grandmother. I used to hate my name, and went by Maggie. It stuck, and now that I love my name, no one calls me by it. Anyway, I love boy names the most for some reason, and I get most of them from book characters and authors I like. I ‘ve never really matched middle names and first names, although it would be cool to get ideas for some of them! Anyway, here they are:

Magdalen is a gorgeous name. I gotta admit, though, Mary Magdalene is a strange person to be named after...she's one of the most notorious "sinners"/unsavories in the Bible...

what a beautiful name you have! it sucks though, to be stuck with a nickname. been there, too. anyway, you and I have the same taste in boy's names. peter is my all time favorite, closely followed by max, henry, and george. boy's names are so interesting sometimes.

I've always been so upset that my dad's name is Peter, just because I won't be able to use the name on any of my future children (I'm not too keen on naming anyone after my parents). :)

I've considered Emerson also being a fan of his essays ;)

I absolutely love Emerson, and the name's not bad-sounding either. :)

I am Maggie, short for Meaghan, but I've been called Maggie my whole life. For a while I hated Maggie and wanted to be called Meaghan, but it never stuck. But I've learned to like Maggie. So we're kind of opposite, heh.

Yeah. I don't disklike Maggie, I'd just rather be called Magdalen. I think it's kinda cute, actually. ;)

Magdalen Rose is a beautiful name! And just an interesting tidbit... while Mary Magdalen is often referred to as a prostitute, she was never actually called that in the bible and there's no actualy evidence to prove that she actually was one.

Oh! Really? I guess I always jsut thought she was without actually ever having read it. Well that does make me feel a bit better. :) thank you!
