I just noticed this community and thought, "Aww, I love names." So I decided to join. I am not a huge fan of my own name but I am stuck with it so there isn't much I can do. My first name is Denise (pronounced Duh-Knees, not Duh-niece) which I am used to now. I hated it for a while but I have gotten used to the fact that it's unusual and uncommon. My middle name is Bronwyn (pronounced Bron-win) and I hate my middle name. I hate it. I have no idea what my parents were thinking when they came up with that. My mum thinks it's a lovely name, I however disagree. I am sure I will grow to love it but for now I am not overly keen on it.

And well, I am only 17 so I don't plan on having children for a while yet but being a typical girl I have names that I would like to name them or at least bring them up in conversation if I ever have a child. I am always intrigued to learn other peoples' names as well. I have a strange fascination with names.

Girls
Emily - I used to dislike this name for an awful long time but have really grown to love it over the years. It's such a girly name.
Holly - I adore this name so much. It has something to do with the fact that I love the actress Holly Marie Combs but I have always loved the name. I think it's got a nice sound to it but the one thing people say is that if you're not born at Christmas then it sounds stupid. I don't think that. I wouldn't associate it with Christmas.
Amelia - I like the sound of it. It's a beautiful name.
Alexis - Again, I like the pronounciation of it. And I also like Lexie for short.

Boys
Noah - I have loved this name for such a long time. I love it. I am not huge on Bibical names. I do not like Joshua and Matthew etc. because they are really common. Alot of people are called Matt or Josh.
Milo - I love this name too It's very "modern", which I often hate in names, but I really like this name. I am not really sure why.
Finley - I am not sure if I would ever call my child this name but I really like the name. It's a beautiful name. And it's an Irish name and well, I am from Nothern Ireland so....:D

And that's about it for boys names. I like to hear other suggestions on names or what names you have called your children. :)

I know a Holly, her birthday is nowhere near Christmas, and I only made the association this past Christmas (I've known her much longer than that). So I don't think it has to be used as a name for a holiday baby. Same goes for names like Noelle.
Milo is a name that makes me think of cute things, because of that movie Milo and Otis. I like it.
Finley has an association for me with wrestling, because there's currently a wrestler in the WWE with that name. Not necessarily a bad thing, as it could associate with strength.

I love your girls names!

Noah is also my favorite boy's name. I'm not a fan of Milo or Finley, though. And Finley's is an okay-but-overpriced restaurant chain around here, so it's hard for me to see it as a person's name.
